MARINERS SCHOOL ANNOUNCES ONLINE PRACTICE TESTING FOR STUDENTS

 — United States Coast Guard (USCG)-Approved Facility Offers Enhanced Educational Resources Through Online Testing—

PRINCETON , NJFebruary 24, 2005— Mariners School is steering their students in the right direction. A USCG-approved, licensed training school, Mariners School is providing another added benefit to their recently revamped website—online practice tests. Found at www.marinersschool.com, individuals attending the OUPV (Captain’s) License courses at Mariners School now have access to a password protected area where they can take practice tests in three separate areas—Deck General, Rules of the Road and Navigation General.

“Students now have the opportunity to take online practice tests which emulate the actual USCG-approved test—a necessary test to complete their OUPV License training,” says Captain Bob Figular, founder of Mariners School. “By offering these practice tests online, we are allowing students the opportunity to better prepare themselves and further enhance their educational resources for the final exam.”

Mariners School students are allowed to log on and access the practice tests as much as they want. They will receive a password to enter the site after attending all of their regularly scheduled course sessions.

Instantaneous Feedback

All of the practice tests consist of questions taken from the Mariners School database, which are a sampling of the questions found on the actual exam. The Rules of the Road test consists of 30 questions, the Navigation General test consists of 20 questions and the Deck General test consists of 60 questions—all multiple choice.

After completing the test, the user test results and final score becomes available within seconds, and will indicate their readiness to pass the exam. Users will notice check marks next to the questions completed successfully and “Xs” for any incorrect answers.

“What makes these tests so useful is the fact that even if a student answers a question wrong, their results will show them the correct answer. Hopefully students will realize their mistake and learn the areas they need to improve on,” says Figular.
